LOCAL charities will be singing the praises of entertainment organisation Music for Darlington when it brings the Proms to the town.
Proceeds from the two concerts, Promenade for Youth on Friday, May 13, and A Last Night of the Proms on Saturday, May 14, will be donated to St Teresa's Hospice, Darlington MIND, The Corps of Army Music Trust and other causes.
Both shows will be held at the Dolphin Centre.
Music for Darlington is an organisation created to bring quality music to the town.
The first event was held in 1993 and was organised to help fund the building of a day centre for Age Concern.
This year's event promises to be a glittering affair with hundreds of local singers, orchestras and wind bands performing over the two nights.
