A TEESDALE volunteer has exceeded her fundraising target for a trip to Africa.
Jenny Wayman, 21, from Baldersdale, will travel to Tanzania for three weeks after raising £2,201.
Miss Wayman will be working with charitable organisation Cross Cultural Solutions alongside various local organisations, including community-led initiatives that focus on the country's spreading HIV/AIDS epidemic. The amount Jenny raised exceeded the amount due for her programme fee, which means more money will go directly to the charity.
The former Bowes Museum marketing assistant raised the money through pub quizzes, packing shopping bags and a fashion show.
Miss Wayman said: "I am looking forward to spending three weeks helping and supporting these deserving people in any way I can.
"I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped."
