DRIVER Susan Palin crashed her car into another woman's vehicle, then crawled towards her as she lay in the road, repeating: "What have I done to you?" a court heard yesterday.
Sarah Tyrer, prosecuting, told Harrogate magistrates how Palin, 39, of Post Office Cottage, Swinton, near Masham, lost control of her Ford Focus on the Knaresborough to Boroughbridge road, near Ferrensby.
Her car had crossed to the wrong side of the road and hit Sharon Burn's Ford Ka, initially trapping Ms Burn inside.
Mrs Tyrer said both Palin and Ms Burn had been detained in hospital, Ms Burn for three nights with a double fracture of her left ankle and head injuries.
When Palin pleaded guilty to careless driving, her solicitor, Christopher Newton, said the incident had left her distressed.
She had been travelling too fast, about 50mph in a 60mph zone, on a road with some fairly tight corners and she had lost control.
Palin was fined £400 with £45 costs and five penalty points.
