A MENTAL health trust has carried out its first census to improve services for ethnic minorities.
County Durham and Darlington Priority Services NHS Trust took part in the national Count Me In mental health and ethnicity census this month to gather information on ethnicity, language and religion of patients.
The results will be used to develop user-friendly services.
The chief executive of County Durham and Darlington Priority Services NHS Trust, Sandy Taylor, said: "Less than two per cent of the population of County Durham and Darlington are from black and minority ethnic groups, which makes our work even more important."
