COUNCILLORS asked to investigate the effectiveness of a helpline for Darlington residents said there are no problems.
Five borough council members formed a working group to examine the council's waste management helpline after complaints about the service were received.
In the report, members said that the helpline is operating to their satisfaction. The review group's findings show that the helpline, which receives about 7,600 calls a month, was widely publicised in the Town Crier magazine, and on the council's website.
The report says: "Having utilised the helpline number in their capacity as members of the public and ward councillors, group members were satisfied with the operation of the helpline and the response.
"Upon examination of the requests/complaints, we were satisfied that requests were dealt with efficiently and promptly, and a higher percentage of complaints were found to be unjustified."
The issue will be discussed at a meeting of the public protection and community partnerships scrutiny committee on Tuesday.
