A TEENAGE football manager is claiming the best record in the football league - after a 100 per cent start to his career.
David Bogg helped Darlington FC to a 2-0 victory on Saturday against Rushden and Diamonds to take his record to played two, won two.
The 14-year-old was invited to help manage the team by Darlington boss David Hodgson after he won The Northern Echo's Local Heroes Awards last November.
Unable to play football himself after foot surgery, David took over the management of his school team, leading them to their first cup triumph in memory.
David first joined Mr Hodgson in the dugout for Darlington's 3-1 victory against Macclesfield on January 3.
Mr Hodgson was so impressed he invited David back for Saturday's match.
David said: "I absolutely loved it and I couldn't have asked for a better result. I would love to get the job permanently because two out of two is not bad - maybe I could help Darlington win the Champions League!"
Mr Hodgson said: "The lads love David. He is 14 and he is able to stand in a changing room and talk to 22 players - that is 22 of his idols - and give a talk. He speaks from the heart and he's a real Darlington fan."
David even signed autographs, with fans calling him Hodgson's successor.
But Mr Hodgson joked: "He's got to beat five straight wins if he wants to top my record!
