A THRIVING nursery celebrated its first birthday with some fun-packed activities yesterday.
Maidendale Community Nursery, in Burnside Road, Firthmoor, Darlington, opened in April last year after securing tens of thousands of pounds of funding from the National Lottery's New Opportunities Fund.
And youngsters marked the anniversary of its opening by tucking into a birthday tea.
A cake in the shape of a '1' was presented to them and the children also wrapped gift boxes and planted sunflower seeds.
The nursery is for youngsters ranging from six months to four-years-old.
