THE Army will be getting in a musical mood next month with the staging of a major annual charity concert.
The Alanbrooke Concert 2005 is being organised by 40 Regiment Royal Artillery, the Lowland Gunners, at Alanbrooke Barracks, Topcliffe, near Thirsk, on May 14.
Taking part will be the Harrogate Male Voice Choir, the Lowland Band, the Pipes and Drums of 40 Regiment Royal Artillery, the Drums of the 1 Battalion the Devonshire and Dorset Regiment and choirs from two local schools.
Alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks will be available from bars and hot food served by Army chefs.
Music will include classical concert and show tunes.
The concert aims to raise as much money as possible for the Army Benevolent Fund, the neonatal unit of the Friarage Hospital in Northallerton, the Sick Kids Friends Foundation and the Yorkhill Children's Foundation.
It will start at 8pm. Tickets are £10 for adults, £6 for children.
A corporate dinner package is also available, including dinner in the Officers' Mess, at £50 per head.
