A CHARITY is holding a golf day to celebrate its 30th anniversary.
The Chester-le-Street and District Voluntary Welfare Committee will stage the event, at the Southmoor Golf Club, near Stanley, on Thursday, June 9.
The competition is open to both sexes and is a team of four event. The £160 cost includes refreshments, 18 holes of golf and a two-course meal with the prize giving.
The welfare committee runs Welcome Visitors - volunteers who visit elderly and disabled people. It also runs a welfare alarm scheme, enabling people to be linked to the local authority Careline scheme and a welfare bus.
