RICHARD SMITH has been appointed as property manager at North-East pub company New Century Inns.
The 32-year-old is a chartered surveyor who has spent his working life in the brewing and drinks industry.
He joins New Century Inns from Avebury Taverns, where was senior estates manager, and has previously worked with Greenalls, Wolverhampton and Dudley Breweries and the Parisa Group.
Mr Smith will be responsible for New Century Inns' estate of 48 pubs across the North of England and the Midlands, as well as looking for new acquisition opportunities.
He said: "One of the real attractions of the job is the scope and variety - handling literally everything from getting a leaking tap fixed to contributing to the long-term strategy for the company."
The pub company is based in Billingham, Teesside.
