RURAL voters in the Bishop Auckland constituency are to be given the chance to question their parliamentary candidates before the General Election.
Churches Together in Barnard Castle and Startforth is holding an 'Any Election Questions' event at the United Reformed Church, Hall Street, Barnard Castle, at 7.30pm on Tuesday.
Richard Bell (Conservative), Chris Foote Wood (Liberal Democrat) and Helen Goodman (Labour) have all confirmed they will be attending.
The organisers also hope UKIP candidate Margaret Hopson will be able to attend.
Teesdale residents will have the chance to meet the candidates and quiz them on subjects of special interest to Teesdale and rural communities. The meeting will have a similar format to the BBC's Question Time, with a main question, followed by supplementary questions from the floor.
Main questions must be submitted by Friday to the secretary, Churches Together in Barnard Castle and Startforth, 31 Thorngate, Barnard Castle, DL12 8QB.
