A PLAY written by William Shakespeare and another about the Bard will be performed at a theatre next month.
The playwright's classic tale of mistaken identity, The Comedy of Errors, will be performed at the Georgian Theatre Royal, in Richmond, by travelling group Northern Broadsides.
The group will also stage Sweet William, a play written by Bafta award winner Alan Plater.
Theatre spokeswoman Laura Hannaway said: "The play is an irreverent Elizabethan romp set in an East End pub.
"It offers a comic insight into Shakespeare's social life from the point of view of his erstwhile friends."
The plays are directed by Barrie Rutter, who also performs in both productions.
The Comedy of Errors will be shown on May 3, 4, 6 and 7 at 7.30pm.
Sweet William will be performed on May 5 at 7.30pm and Saturday, May 7, at 2.30pm
Tickets for each play are £6.50 to £16.50, available on (01748) 825252.
