Church concert: The next fundraising event organised by Yarm Lions is a concert featuring the Trimdon and District Male Voice Choir, at Yarm Methodist Church on Friday, at 7.15pm. Dance success: Pupils of the Harlequin Stage School, in Yarm, have been successful in their spring exams. Their choice of Mary Poppins in their first session of the musical section gained them 80 marks and they were highly commended. Forthcoming musicals are The King and I and Hello Dolly. Toddler sessions: Yarm Childminding Network holds toddler sessions at the Layfield community centre, Everingham Road, on Tuesdays, 1.30pm to 3pm, and Thursdays, 10am to 11.30am. The sessions are open to all registered child minders. For details, contact Sharon Dale on (01642) 888468.
Charity shop: The Butterwick Hospital charity shop is back in Yarm. It is in Danby Wynd and is open Monday to Friday, 9.30am to 4pm, and on Saturdays, 10am to 4pm.
Jazz evening: Yarm Fellowship Hall, in West Street, is the venue for an evening of jazz and blues with the Sheena Davis group, on Friday, May 13, at 7.30pm. There will be a licensed bar. Tickets cost £10, including a buffet, from Peter Monck on (01642) 888786.
Lunch club: An over-60s lunch club is being held every fortnight, in the Yarm Youth and Community Centre, High Church Wynd. The two-course lunch, with tea or coffee, costs £3.50 and there will also be a raffle and cakes for sale. Transport is available. Antiques evening: An antiques valuation evening at Egglescliffe School tomorrow, at 7.30pm, has been organised by the PTA. Take your antiques along to be valued by Richard Edwards, an auctioneer with Addisons, of Barnard Castle. Mr Edwards will value 60 lots at £5 per lot (including a glass of wine/refreshment). Contact Mrs Willis at the school office on (01642) 352570 to reserve a ticket to have an item valued. Entry tickets at £1, including wine and refreshments, will be available for those who want to watch.
Garden festival: Preston Park is the venue for the Teesside Spring Garden and Wood Festival, from Friday, May 6 to Sunday, May 8. Opening times are from 11am to 6pm on Friday, and on Saturday and Sunday from 9.30am to 5.30pm. Admission on Friday costs £2 for adults, £1.50 for concessions, free for under-16s. On Saturday and Sunday, admission costs £3 for adults, with concessions at £2.50, under-16s free.
