THE safety of the MMR triple vaccine and the latest thinking on Variant CJD (vCJD) will be the subject of a meeting today.
Experts on infectious diseases will speak at Durham University's Wolfson Institute, in Stockton.
Professor Andrew Hall, of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, will consider the controversial issues surrounding the triple vaccine.
Durham University's Professor Mike Bramble, who is based at the James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough, will consider the scale of the threat of vCJD to the population.
One of the leading experts in tropical diseases, Professor Eldryd Parry of the Tropical Health and Education Trust, will also be speaking.
Professor Steve Lindsay of Durham University, who has a particular interest in controlling malaria, is also taking part.
