DESIGNER fashion store Psyche has been hailed as the shop of the future, after winning two awards.
The outlet, in Linthorpe Road, Middlesbrough, won the regional and national categories of the Top 100 Doors awards, run by men's magazine FHM.
Judges described it as "a 21st-Century department store without departments - a store for the future".
It follows Psyche winning retailer of the year and best new store 2004 in the Drapers awards.
Owner Steve Cochrane said: "It was absolutely amazing to sit there and listen to all these hugely important people in the business raving about Psyche and how it is the future of retailing.
"These awards just confirm everything we have worked so hard for over the past few years and they add to what is a whole new era for Psyche.
"No store has ever won both Draper's awards and both FHM awards in the same year, and it could not have come at a better time for us."
Mr Cochrane has invested more than £3m in the transformation of the former Uptons department store.
