A TEESDALE village is planning a series of festivities to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the end of the Second World War.
Members of the Middleton-in-Teesdale branch of the British Legion are organising VE day celebrations on Saturday, May 7.
The celebrations will take place in front of Middleton Methodist Church.
Photographs featuring people from the area during the war will be on show.
There will also be stalls with a raffle, cakes, bric-a-brac, food and quizzes. It is also hoped a brass band will perform.
Middleton poppy appeal organiser Jean Henderson said: "It will be a great opportunity for all to thank those local heroes who secured our liberty."
A quiz is available for £1. To get a sheet, call Mrs Henderson on (01833) 640319.
