POLICE have arrested two people over an incident in which a man was shot.
The pair were arrested over conspiracy to murder Newcastle father John Ormston, a doorman.
Detectives detained the men at different addresses in Lancashire on Tuesday.
They were brought to the North-East and questioned before they were released on police bail pending inquiries.
Detective Superintendent Barbara Franklin, who is heading the inquiry, said: "We still need to hear from anyone who has information which will assist the inquiry."
Mr Ormston, 26, of Throckley, Newcastle, was shot twice at close range with a shotgun.
Surgeons removed 40 shotgun pellets, and he had to have plastic surgery to cover the wound.
