A DROP-IN hospital service has been launched to help people cope with head injuries.
South Tees Hospitals NHS Trust and Headway Teesside have got together to organise a drop-in session on the first Wednesday of every month, the next one being May 4, from 2pm to 4pm, in Ward 26 of the James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough.
At the sessions, patients can get advice and talk to other people who have either had a head injury or are caring for someone who has had one.
Consultant in rehabilitation medicine Dr Mike Barsoum said: "We're delighted to offer this extra service for people affected by head injury. When people leave hospital they still need support, people to talk to and ways of finding out information easily.
"I'm sure this drop-in service will be of enormous benefit to anyone who has been affected by head injury."
People can find out more about the sessions by contacting Ann Siddle, on Ward 26, on (01642) 835695. More information about Teesside Headway is available at www.headwayteesside.org.uk
