DRAGONS and lions paid a flying visit to a Darlington school yesterday.
Youngsters at Hummersknott School were treated to traditional Chinese dragon and lion dances performed by pupils from Shanghai's Yew Chung International School.
Students were also entertained by a 60-piece orchestra, a traditional Tibetan dance, and a demonstration of calligraphy.
Head of music at Hummersknott school John Frankland said the morning performance was excellent.
"The students were mesmerised by the dance, it was breathtaking," said Mr Frankland. He said he hoped it would inspire pupils to take-up languages such as Chinese, adding: "This was a great event, and it gave the students a wonderful chance to experience cultural exchange."
