MOTORISTS are being warned to stop flouting vehicle restrictions in Sunderland as police step up action to enforce regulations.
Officers are responding to complaints from businesses including shops and bars on both sides of Holmeside
Inspector Gordon Makepeace, of Sunderland police, said: "We have received a number of complaints from businesses who have had difficulties in receiving deliveries due to the volume of traffic that should not be using this stretch of road."
In Holmeside, vehicles are banned between 6am and 6pm except for, cyclists, permit-holders, disabled badge holders, buses, taxis, street cleaners and bin lorries.
