DOZENS of golfers competed in memory of a colleague and friend yesterday.
Eighteen teams played for the Mark Donnelly Memorial Golf Trophy, at Wynyard Golf Club, near Stockton.
The aim was to honour the memory of the 32-year-old quantity surveyor, from Ingleby Barwick, who died a year ago of leukaemia, and raise money for his charity.
Mr Donnelly died despite a bone marrow transplant organised by the Anthony Nolan Trust.
Gary Marshall, associate director of Faithful and Gould Commercial Services, in Stockton, where Mr Donnelly worked before his illness, said: "We are very pleased at how things have gone.
"We had no problem about filling up the places."
