A DEDICATED fundraiser has donated £10,000 to her chosen charity.
Hilda Phillips, of Dene Bank Grange, Ferryhill, County Durham, began collecting money for the Butterwick Hospice before it even opened, in Bishop Auckland, ten years ago.
Since then, she has organised countless coffee mornings, raffles and made craft goods to sell in aid of the hospice.
Mrs Phillips said: "I've supported The Butterwick Hospice since the building was a shell, but I couldn't have done it without the support of my friends and neighbours, and especially Russell Hunter, who is a hospice volunteer, and Jennifer Gash, a warden."
Mrs Phillips has no intention of slowing down. Her latest fundraiser, a coffee morning, raised a further £790.
