Virginia Waters completed a famous Classic double for Aidan O'Brien and Kieren Fallon with victory in the UltimatePoker.com 1000 Guineas at Newmarket yesterday.
The pair were successful in the colts' equivalent with Footstepsinthesand on Saturday and followed up as the 12-1 shot flew late to capture the fillies' race in some style, leaving Maids Causeway toiling back in second.
Vista Bella ran on well to finish third under Philip Robinson.
Fallon settled the Kingmambo filly at the back of the field in the early stages as Satin Kiss and Karen's Caper cut out the early running.
The new Ballydoyle number one asked his mount to quicken inside the final two furlongs and she responded in devastating fashion, cutting down Maids Causeway - sent off the 5-1 favourite - to score by two and a half lengths.
Karen's Caper looked booked for a place but was worried out of the frame by the fast-finishing Vista Bella (12-1), who came home a further half-length away.
Fallon was all smiles as he said: ''She's a fabulous filly and has been going the right way.
''I don't think I've ever been travelling so well in a Classic in my life. Russian Rhythm travelled well all the way (in this race in 2003) but this filly travelled even better and the way she has picked up and gone away is amazing.''
O'Brien said: ''Kieren gave her an unbelievable ride. He couldn't believe how much she had improved after she won at Leopardstown.
''It's great for all the lads, they've put in a lot of effort. You do your best every season - sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, but it's great when it does.''
The handler revealed that Virginia Waters could well go to Epsom for the Vodafone Oaks with the participation of stablemate Kitty O'Shea looking ever more doubtful.
''I'll speak to Kieren but she is out of a Sadler's Wells mare and is probably bred to stay the mile and a half,'' he said.
''Kitty O'Shea will need three weeks box rest and she will go to Epsom without a prep run if she goes at all. It's very hard to say at the moment exactly what the plans will be.''
Joint owner Michael Tabor added: ''It doesn't get any better than this - this is what you dream about. Kieren took his time with her, which is what she likes.
''You always hope that you will get off to a good start but you don't dream that it will be this good. One Classic winner is unbelievable, but to have two is just phenomenal.''
Maids Causeway's trainer Barry Hills said: ''She ran a great race but was beaten by a better horse. The winner has gone by and won in a stride or two and she could be very good, but we beat the rest fair and square.
''I'll consider the Irish 1000 and the Coronation Stakes now. I'd like to run her over a mile and a quarter at some stage but I'd like to do it in the second half of the year.
''She's not in the Oaks or the Diane (French Oaks) and I'm pleased, although she could be supplemented.
''If we play the shots right we could come back here and maybe win the Champion Stakes.''
Rider Michael Hills said: ''I'm very proud of her. I thought in the dip I'd got it and then the winner came with that good turn of foot and the best horse won on the day.
''I think she'll get further - she's very tough and ran a great race.''
Vista Bella's trainer Michael Jarvis said: ''I have always felt that she is a very good filly but we were a bit worried about the ground today.
''I think that she just showed her lack of experience as she got a little bit behind as they jumped very quick, but when she hit the rising ground, she picked up and finished very strongly.
''I think that she will get a mile and a quarter.
''She is not in the Irish 1000 but she could be supplemented, I'll have to talk to the boss (Sheikh Mohammed).''
Robinson added: ''She ran a cracker and will be a lot better over a mile and a quarter. She just hit a flat spot halfway through the race and changed her legs a few times and was just a bit inexperienced running into the dip.''
John Gosden, trainer of Karen's Caper, said: ''She has run a very nice race. My only comment would be she was drawn 21 of 21 and that she saw daylight all of the way, but that is the draw and you can't help that.''
Jockey Jimmy Fortune added: ''She was nice and relaxed. I had plenty of filly going into the dip and she quickened well.
''I think she is still a bit weak and I don't think we have seen the best of her yet.''
