BACK at home after a two-day fundraiser with a difference are the intrepid travellers known as the Tractor Boys.
Based at the Cross Keys pub at Bellerby, near Leyburn, they are a group of tractor enthusiasts, who have been raising cash for two disabled local young people, Kaylie Atkinson and John Vickers.
On Friday and Saturday, the Tractor Boys completed a 125-mile marathon on their much-loved machines, travelling from Morecambe, in Lancashire, to Saltburn at speeds seldom topping 15mph.
Five tractors set out on Friday and, after an overnight stop in their home village, they were joined by two more for the second leg, to Saltburn. Once all were back home again, a barbecue and charity night was held at the pub, again in aid of the two youngsters.
Richard Clarke said: "It went very well and there were no mishaps at all. We're not sure yet exactly how much we have raised, but it should be a very helpful sum."
