Dunston are aiming to complete the second leg of their trophy treble when they play Hartlepool United in the final of the Durham Challenge Cup at Durham City this morning, writes RAY SIMPSON.

Dunston, who clinched the Northern League title a month ago, go into the game having never lost to a North-East team in any competition this season. Their only defeats have been against Cammell Laird in the FA Cup and Pickering in the FA Vase.

Assistant manager Perry Briggs said: "It's the first time we've played in this final, so there's an incentive there for us. Our problem is that we've got one or two tired legs in the team. Hartlepool are a young side, very pacey, and they'll be a lot fresher than us.

"Hopefully our experience will get us through."

Michael Laws and Alex Benjamin are both ineligible for Dunston, while Danny Shore and Kane Young will both have fitness tests. Dunston are in the final of the Northern League Cup against Bedlington on Wednesday night, at Durham.

Hartlepool are expected to field keeper James Winter and midfielder David Foley, who both played for Brandon in the in the later stages of the season.
