Darlington Building Society NYSD Premier League Division One: Umar Rashid and Andrew Emmerson combined to send Wolviston crashing to just 50 all out at Thornaby.

Rashid delivered 16 overs, including 10 maidens claiming four wickets for a mere 19 runs and Emmerson captured three wickets for six runs from the 3.2 overs he delivered.

Runs were a lot more plentiful when Thornaby made first use of the wicket. Michael Muldowney, Matt Dix and man-of-the-match Rashid all passed 30 in a total of 181-9. Wolviston's top performer was Jimmy Jones whose 14 overs produced figures of 3-30.

Darlington also struggled for runs and they managed only 76 from no fewer than 40.2 overs against Blackhall at Feethams. More than half the score came from Colin Biglin whose 40 included six boundaries.

Newcomer Shoaib Akhtar was the player responsible for Darlington's poor showing and in 13 overs, five of which were maidens, he conceded just 18 runs taking six wickets.

Akhtar, who last season played at Dawdon, then took over with the bat striking six fours in 34 as the Colliers won, losing just three wickets in 19.4 overs.

Redcar were all out for just 83 at home to Seaton Carew who romped to victory without losing a wicket.

Keith Gibbon took seven wickets for 30 runs in 16.3 overs before Ricky Clayton, with eight fours in 44 not out and Martin Skirving, with an unbeaten 37 dominated the Seasiders' attack.

Richard Hornbrook (59) and Ryan Murray (37 not out) contributed most of the runs to Guisborough's matchwinning 144-3 against Darlington RA at Fountains Garth. Graham Hird top-performed with the bat for RA ending undefeated on 56 after going in at number five, while Stephen Trillo returned 4-24 for Guisborough.

Marton had Normanby Hall on the back foot at 77-7 replying to a target of 218-2 declared.

The runs came freely to the home batsmen and opener Chris Lane ended unbeaten on 82 including a six and five fours.

Mattie Benfield also carried his bat for 65 and Graham Shaw added 42 to the formidable total.

James Clarkson took an unbeaten 103 off the Stokesley attack recording 12 boundaries from the 133 balls he received.

The 50 overs yielded a total of 205-6 for Bedale before Stokesley responded with 138-4 which included an undefeated 47 with one six and eight fours by Mark Smith.

Yarm were 102 for five when bad light stopped play in their home game with Barnard Castle for whom David Stanwix captured three of the wickets for 39 runs.

It was Will Wyatt though who took the eye when he claimed eight of the Barnard Castle wickets for 61 runs.

Michael Stanwix was the visitors' top scorer with 38 out of a total of 153.
