Darlington Building Society NYSD League Premier Division: Runs were in short supply for Richmondshire's batsmen against Saltburn and the three-figure mark was only just reached as the four-man visiting attack dominated throughout the innings.
Clive Layfield (32) and skipper Andy Mollitt (33) formed a promising partnership for the second wicket but only one other player reached double figures as Richmond stuttered to just 104 for the loss of eight wickets.
Saltburn conceded a couple of early setbacks but Tony Bell (30) and Adil Ditta with 32 led their side to a six-wickets victory. Three of the four wickets to fall were credited to Shanoka Dissanayake at a cost of 42 runs in 13 overs.
Hartlepool had three wickets in hand of Redcar at Park Drive. Replying to a target of 154 they lost both openers cheaply before Ricky Evans with 77 and later Andy Carter (31 not out) secured victory.
Evans and Carter were also in form with the ball sharing seven wickets as Redcar managed only 153 all out.
Guisborough, aiming to win the title for a record-breaking fifth consecutive season made it two wins out of two defeating Northallerton by seven wickets.
The home side's innings was reduced to 46 overs and at the completion, a total of 132-3 was posted with most of the runs coming from Ian Place (63 not out) and Jonathan Barnes with 34.
Graeme Murray, with a useful 32 and Saul Clifford (27) gave Guisborough's reply a sound platform before Imran Jan struck three sixes and seven boundaries in an undefeated 61. As usual, Barnes proved economical in the Northallerton attack conceding just 40 runs in 16 overs.
Bad light stopped play with Middlesbrough on 107-8 replying to the Normanby Hall total of 154. Najebat Ramzan top-scored with 35 in the Hall innings and for the visitors, Gary Bowman took four wickets for just 25 runs in 11 overs and Brett Roberts returned 4-60 from the 11.2 overs he sent down.
Mohamed Zahid, with a hugely economical 25 overs which cost him just 36 runs and Farooq Ahmed, who in 20 overs returned 5-60 were the bowlers who caused Boro their problems.
Bad light also brought about a premature end to the game between Great Ayton and Darlington with just 16 runs and four wickets separating the pair.
Needing 131 runs for victory, Darlington were 114-6 following 37 overs and they were indebted to opener Stephen Chapman for his 60 which included eight fours. Colin Murray was in good form with the ball for Ayton claiming four wickets for 36 runs in 14 overs, five of which were maidens.
Paul Raine was the dominant player in Darlington's seven-man attack and eight of his 16 overs failed to produce a run as he ended with the creditable figures of 3-22. Ayton batted 48 overs compiling 130-9.
Darlington RA were one wicket away from success against Marske at Brinkburn Road where Reetinder Sodhi, with figures of 6-60, almost clinched victory. Neil Coverdale was the player who held up RA with a well-played half century opening the innings.
Left-arm spinner Lee Beaumont back in the league after a couple of seasons with Philadelphia, claimed five of the seven RA wickets to fall for 45 runs. Phil Crowther top-performed with the bat making 37 of the home team's total of 136-7.
No play was possible in the game between Billingham Synthonia and Bishop Auckland.
