AN English version of Verdi's Opera La Traviata is playing at two North-East venues.
It is being performed by Northern Opera with soprano Rachel Orr taking the lead role of Violetta.
She has appeared in many theatrical and concert venues in the region and given many charity performances, both locally and nationally.
Rachel continues to study under the guidance of Clarice Stringer and has enjoyed singing with many male voice choirs as well as established concert and oratorio choral societies.
International tenor Mike Bracegirdle will be singing the role of Alfredo, who is madly in love with Violetta.
Baritone Richard Spencer plays the part of Alfredo's father, Giorgio Germont who is not happy with his son's love affair with Violetta.
Based on the French novel The Lady of the Camellias, it is one the most popular Italian operas and features a famous drinking song and a lively gambling scene.
The opera is being performed at Whitley Bay Playhouse on May 20 and 21 and Durham's Gala Theatre May 25, 27 and 28.
