SCHOOL pupils have been rewarded for their sporting and academic achievements.
The youngsters from Bedale High School were given certificates for their effort in various school subjects.
The awards are handed out to top achievers every term.
Headteacher Graham Turner said: "These awards are important to us for a number of reasons, but the students always respond when their successes are being recognised in a positive way."
Also presented with awards were four students who have won through to the national finals of the UK Maths Challenge.
James Mollard, Gary Lodge, Laura Williams and Madeline Finkhill scored some of the highest marks in the North of England, and will now go through to represent the area in the national final.
