GYM members are being urged to rise to a fitness challenge and raise money for a national charity.
Members of the Lifestyle fitness suites in Ferryhill, Newton Aycliffe, Shildon-Sunnydale and Spennymoor Leisure Centres can join the triathlon challenge in aid of DebRA.
Members will clock up miles on a treadmill, kilometres on a cross-trainer and calories on exercise bikes over four weeks.
Funds will be donated to DebRA - a charity dedicated to helping people born with the skin condition epidermoylsis bullosa (EB) which was highlighted by the Channel 4 show The boy whose skin fell off, featuring the late Johnny Kennedy.
Donations of £1 are being asked for to take part and everyone who meets the challenge will receive a T-shirt.
The appeal is being supported by England football manager Sven Goran-Eriksson who supports the charity and recently met some EB sufferers.
He said: "I feel very moved by the courage of the young people I have met. That's why I am supporting DebRA - to help them to find effective treatments and treatments we know will happen through research.
