Have a ball for charity: Teesside charity Daisy Chain, which provides respite care for families affected by autism, is holding a spring ball on Friday, May 20, at Guisborough Hall.
The event has been organised to help raise money for the Daisy Chain Respite Centre for children with autism and their carers. It will include special guests, an auction, a casino and live music. For details, call (01642) 531248.
ROAD closed: The A171 inside lane at Woodhouse roundabout, between Guisborough and Nunthorpe will be closed for one week from today, so bus platforms can be installed. There will be temporary traffic signals for two days on the A174 Saltburn roundabout, from today for anti-skid surfacing works.

LIFEBOAT MEETING: Redcar Ladies Lifeboat Guild holds its annual meeting on Wednesday, May 11, at 7.30pm in the Claxton Hotel, High Street, Redcar.
