Darlington Building Society NYSD Premier League champions Guisborough wasted no time maintaining their 100 per cent record at the expense of Marske at Fountains Garth yesterday.

The Seasiders, who did not score a run until the last ball of the 11th over were all out for only 49, and 29 of their runs were scored by two of their last three batsmen. No fewer than six players failed to get off the mark.

It was the twin attack of David Towse and David Goodchild who brought about the collapse and the meagre total was quickly overtaken by the home side.

Normanby Hall had more than 100 runs to spare defeating Hartlepool who managed only 94 as Mohamed Zahid produced the magnificent figures of 8-32.

Saltburn were easy winners at newly-promoted Billingham Synthonia who were back in the pavilion with just 80 runs on the board.

All five Saltburn bowlers claimed wickets before Tony Bell (37 not out) and Tim Hood led their side to victory.

Bad light stopped play at Richmondshire who needed only another 39 runs with eight wickets intact against Darlington RA who batting first posted 150-8 from their 50 overs.

Great Ayton required 61 runs in nine overs when their match with Middlesbrough was also brought to a premature end. Alex Roberts contributed a half century to the Boro total of 231-6 while David Grainge was unbeaten on 55.

Bad light was also the winner at Feethams. Darren Blenkiron and Amul Mazumdar both hit half centuries leading Bishops to 153-9. In reply Darlington were 108-5.

Redcar batted 47 overs totalling 125-6 at Northallerton who used up all but two balls of their 50 overs making 155 which included a splendid innings of 80 by Jonathan Barnes. Stuart Mackay claimed 6-51 for Redcar.

Darlington RA were all out for just 45 in their Division One game with Thornaby for whom Umar Rashid claimed 5-10 in 12.3 overs and Metcalfe 4-9 from 11 overs.

Darlington too suffered defeat losing by six wickets at Stokesley. Chris Bede bowled a good 16.4 overs capturing 4-42 as the visitors managed only 131. Rob Cameron-Clark (59 not out) and David Weighell eased Stokesley to victory.

Brandon made it three wins out of three in The Readers Durham County League and Australian Jim Allenby was again unbeaten leading his side to an eight-wickets win over Ushaw Moor.

Allenby ended with 74, including two sixes and eight boundaries and has already passed the 200 mark in three innings. His contribution was out of a total of 115-2 compiled from only 25 overs.

Willington wasted no time defeating Langley Park who were back in the pavilion for just 84, Wearmouth claiming 6-22. Gary Cummings and Australian Chris Slattery then formed an unbroken second wicket partnership .

Tudhoe, too, were easy winners at home to Shildon who mustered only 86 with Chris Glasper taking 5-14 and David Ronson 4-28.

Simon Davies struck a quick undefeated 52 and Sewranie Chattagoon 30 not out as the pair beat the weather. The other three games were abandoned when the rain arrived early evening.
