SCHOOLCHILDREN were delighted when they had a farmyard visitor this week.
Elizabeth the lamb was brought to Roseberry Primary School in Pelton, near Chester-le-Street, by nine-year-old Shona Holmes for a show-and-tell session.
The new-born lamb belongs her uncle, Ian Holmes, who has a farm in Hartlepool.
Children in year five were able to stroke the lamb and ask questions about it.
Class teacher Emma Dunn said: "It was certainly very different from the ornaments, trophies, pebbles and toys they usually bring in."
