WAR veterans have received a guided tour around one of the region's RAF bases.
The veterans visited RAF Linton-on-Ouse, near York, as part of celebrations to mark the 60th anniversary of VE day.
The visit to the former Halifax and Lancaster bomber base included an inspection of the station memorial room and museum, which is dedicated to the 2002 airmen who lost their lives on missions from Linton.
The guests also met some of the trainee pilots.
Among the veterans was Lancaster bomber flight engineer Norman Berryman, of York.
Another guest, Mac Mathieson, of Ricall, North Yorkshire, was shot down over Germany in his Lancaster. The pilot suffered serious facial injuries when the windscreen exploded and he received pioneering plastic surgery.
