COMPANIES hoping to break into the multi-billion dollar US video games market will be showcasing their wares at a major industry event later this month.
Four North-East software producers are taking part in video games conference E3, held in Los Angeles, from May 17 to 20.
They include two companies from Middlesbrough - Atomic Planet and Onisoft. They will be joined by Mere-Mortals, from Newcastle, and Gateshead-based Pitbull Syndicate.
The four are part of a delegation funded by Codeworks GameHorizon, an association of North-East games development companies set up by the North-East Centre of Digital Excellence.
Simon King, of Codeworks, said: "If your business is games development, you have got to exhibit at E3 - it is the only place to be.
"Codeworks GameHorizon is organising this delegation with three main objectives in mind - to support North- East games companies selling games in the international marketplace, to build strong collaborative relationships and support networks, and to raise the profile of the North-East games industry as a whole and of individual companies in the US."
