VOLUNTEERS are again being sought to take part in a litter pick in a village.
The Heighington Parish Litter Group was formed after residents complained about the state of the village's roads.
An original litter pick was cancelled because of heavy snow, while on a second litter pick, which was hampered by strong winds, volunteers filled 60 bags with rubbish, even gathering items such as abandoned tyres and old electric meters.
Another litter pick is planned for next Saturday, and organisers are hoping for better weather.
Volunteers can meet at 10am at Heighington Village Hall, Redworth Village Hall or at The Chestnuts housing development, where they will be given equipment and instructions. For more details, call Peter Smyth on (01325) 312123.
