TWO charities have received a £4,000 boost, thanks to the work of the retiring chairman of Hambleton District Council.
Over the past 12 months, Councillor June Imeson has combined representing the authority with organising charity events.
And the charity work has led to cheques for £2,071 each for the local branches of Multiple Sclerosis and Yorkshire Cancer Research. Along the way, cash has also been given to the tsunami appeal and the RAF Benevolent Fund.
