YOUNG farmers have been learning new skills as part of a two-day event designed to encourage club members to take an active role in running the organisation. The event, organised by the Yorkshire Federation of Young Farmers Clubs, attracted members from all over the county.
It was held at the Swarthghyll Activity Centre, near Hawes, and saw members build a tree house on the first day.
On the second day, a seminar was held, demonstrating different leadership skills and how effective communication can benefit members and Young Farmers Clubs.
County chairman Rachel Wilson said: "These acquired skills and team spirit increase members' participation within the organisation, resulting in successful clubs and stronger committees as well as improving members' confidence in school, university and workplace."
