VISITORS to the North-East's premier open-air museum will get a rare chance to see behind the scenes on a special guided tour.
The Beamish Museum, near Stanley, County Durham, will be opening its Regional Museums Store on Saturday, May 21.
The vast building houses many unique items of the region's industrial and transport heritage.
Guided tours will be at 2pm and 3pm, conducted by museum experts. Tours are also planned for Friday, July 22, and Saturday, September 24.
The tours are free of charge, but places are limited and must be booked by contacting Rosemary Allan on 0191-370 4027.
