POLICE are clamping down on the misuse of public toilets after a number of men were propositioned for sex.
Officers will target Redcar, east Cleveland, with surveillance to discourage males soliciting in the seaside town.
Cleveland Police have received a number of complaints from men who have been confronted by lewd acts.
Sergeant Shaun Quinn said: "Men have been confronted and propositioned by males loitering in the toilets."
Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council had offered to provide posters for display in problem areas, he said.
"They will be displayed inside the toilets, warning that the premises are under police surveillance.
"Anyone found committing an offence will be prosecuted."
