CHILDREN who learnt about post-war history by singing and dancing have donated £125 to a cancer charity.
All 73 pupils at Barton Primary School took part in a concert for friends and family, which included scenes set in the decades after the Second World War.
The concert was the first performance in the school hall, which was opened last year by former pupil and rugby star Rob Andrew.
The children decided donations made during the event would go to Cancer Research UK.
The cheque was presented to Brenda Redfern, the charity's community fundraiser for Yorkshire, who said: "With donations like this, our scientists are able to find really good treatments to make people well.
