HALF-year profits at software group Sage have punched through the £100m mark.
The Newcastle-based company saw pre-tax profits rise 16 per cent to £100.6m for the six months ending in March. Turnover increased 17 per cent to £381.6m.
Chief executive Paul Walker said: "These results show that the improved organic revenue growth of last year has continued into 2005.
"Throughout the group, all of our divisions have shown growth during the first half, by continuing to provide locally-developed and locally-supported solutions."
Sage supplies accounting and business management software solutions for small to medium-sized enterprises.
The only technology group in the FTSE 100 index, it employs 8,000 people worldwide, including 1,200 people at its head office in Newcastle Great Park.
Its customer base stands at 4.5 million businesses, 200,000 more than 12 months ago.
Earnings per share rose 18 per cent to 5.49p and the interim dividend was raised to 0.922p per share, compared with 0.611p last year
