STAFF from a hairdressers in the North-East are to swap their scissors for sneakers when they take part in a charity run.
The women, who work at Tangles hair salon in Post House Wynd, Darlington, will take part the Race For Life in the town's South Park on June 12.
The race will see about 2,000 women run 5km to raise money for Cancer Research UK - and the salon staff hope to raise £200 each.
Salon manager Suzanne Myers, hairdresser and teacher Joanne Wake, beauty therapist Joanna Bushell and hairdresser Kelly King, all in their mid-20s, have been inspired to take part for personal reasons.
Miss King said: "I am doing the race for my mam who had breast cancer just over a year ago and is now fit and well."
Miss Myers said: "We have all had people in our families who have either had cancer or have lost their life to cancer. We are women and work in a very women orientated environment and cancer could affect any of us."
The women will be running in pink T-shirts with the salon logo on them. Anyone who wants to sponsor them should visit the salon.
