A PARISH councillor has repeated his call for more youth facilities to be provided in a village.
Hurworth Parish Council heard this week that anti-social behaviour in the community had declined dramatically over the past month.
The village had become a hotspot for youths causing trouble, but the arrival of community support officer John Angus has helped cut the number of incidents. Mr Angus said there had been some minor incidents involving youngsters in the last few weeks, but nothing as bad as previous problems.
But Councillor George Lawman, who asked for more youth provision at the council's last meeting, reiterated his call for new facilities.
"We have still got to provide something for these youths. This has been going on for years and the parish council has to take an active role," he said.
"It's very important that this happens before we get into the winter months and have problems again.
"I would suggest there has to be a small sub-committee set up and let us find something for these youths to do."
A representative of Darlington Borough Council's youth service will address its next meeting.
