A choir of children from Africa is to tour the Wear Valley to raise awareness about Aids orphans.
The Watoto Children's Choir from Uganda, central Africa, will be singing at the Wear Valley Christian Centre and St John's High School, Bishop Auckland, later this month.
Watoto, meaning "the children", is visitiing the area as part of an international tour.
Minister Dave Parry, of the Wear Valley Christian Centre, in Bishop Auckland, said: "These children have lost parents through Aids and have to live in special villages with house parents. These children want to promote these villages and help them grow to provide for the staggering number of children who are left orphaned through Aids."
Watoto's Concerts of Hope began in 1994. The choir consists of 18 boys and girls who have lost one or both parents and who now live in homes built by Watoto Child Care Ministries.
A concert will be held at Wear Valley Christian Centre, Bishop Auckland, at 6pm on Sunday, May 22. They will also play to Year 7 pupils at St John's School in Bishop Auckland on Monday, May 23.
