St Helens: THE meeting opened with the secretary reading the minutes and correspondence and reminding members of the forthcoming coffee evening on May 18, at 7pm.
The event is open to all and will be held in Selby Close Community Centre, St Helens.
Kathy Wylie, delegate to the County Federation annual meeting, presented a report, with particular reference to progress being made on the new county headquarters in Spennymoor. Mrs Wylie was thanked by the president, Nancy Jewitt.
The two main resolutions for the national annual meeting were discussed. These relate to farm gate milk prices and protection of the environment.
During the tea break Vera Goulding entertained us with poems and monologues. A light-hearted quiz followed.
The competition for a flower arrangement in an egg cup was won by Kathy Wylie. Raffle prizes were won by Vera Goulding and Mary Goldsborough.
