GEORDIE actor John Middleton, who plays the Reverend Ashley Thomas in the ITV series Emmerdale, is inviting people to join him on a charity walk.
He is taking part in the Newcastle Gateshead Bridges Walk on June 4 to raise money for the The Children's Society.
The sponsored walk, which crosses seven Tyneside bridges and passes many of Newcastle and Gateshead's landmarks, was launched last year.
Mr Middleton, 52, who was born in Newcastle, plans to bring his family along to enjoy the day out.
He said: "The Newcastle Gateshead Bridges Walk is a great way to stay fit and see the city's sights while raising money for a good cause."
The routes are buggy friendly, but there are some steep hills.
There are free refreshments, picnic stops along the way and entertainment en route.
Every walker will receive a medal and a goody bag at the finish line.
The sponsored walk will raise funds for The Children's Society's work with some of the North-East's most disadvantaged children and the charity's ongoing campaign to help young runaways.
To take part in the walk, call 0845 300 1128.
