Chester-le-Street TG: MEMBERS were welcomed to the AGM in April by Doreen Yeates. Sick members were wished well and apologies for absences were given.
Doreen welcomed visitors Jenny Tarn, June Marshall, Gillian Clough and Margaret Milner.
After the fire drill, minutes of the March meeting were read by Dorothy, who then gave a resum of the past year.
Irene gave the financial report for the year and Margaret read the federation report.
MargaretWood and Beryl Pratt were welcomed on to the committee.
Doreen gave a review of the year, during which she paid tribute to Nellie Poole, an officer for many years, who had moved to the south-west of the country. Also wished well was Joyce Gordon, the previous treasurer.
The members and officers were thanked for their help and support and presentations were made.
There were two winners of the competition cup, Jean McCann and Anne Lambert.
Finally, members enjoyed cheese, drinks and a chat.
The evening finished with a game.
The speakers for the second April meeting were Jill and Joanne from the Customs House in South Shields. Members were all interested and impressed at what the Customs House has to offer.
Federation day competitions were discussed along with future events.
