CHILDREN at a Chester-le-Street school were delighted when they had a farmyard visitor.
Elizabeth the lamb was taken to Roseberry Primary School in Pelton by nine-year-old Shona Holmes as part of a 'show and tell' session.
The new born lamb belongs to her uncle Ian Holmes, who has a farm in Hartlepool.
Children in Year five were able to stroke the lamb and ask questions.
Teacher Emma Dunn said: "It was certainly very different from the ornaments, trophies, pebbles and toys they usually bring in. Someone else has brought a budgie in since. We don't know what to expect next."
The sessions have been introduced to improve speaking and listening skills.
