FIFTY jobs have been created with the re-launch of a supermarket in Guisborough.
The new workers have been recruited by supermarket chain Morrisons, which has opened its new store at a former Safeway.
The doors to the Westgate store were opened to shoppers by general manager Mike Woods.
Staff marked the occasion with an official ribbon cutting ceremony.
Part of the new-look shop is the introduction of a 'Market Street', a collection of traditional specialist counters selling food items freshly prepared in store.
Mr Woods said the workforce had been working night and day over the past few weeks to ensure the store opening.
He said: "The team has been working very hard and have been looking forward to welcoming customers."
